Silver market and working p-day

Elder Neddo. Grandson of Elder Schwitzer. Appendicitis

Elder Morris. Another appendicitis the day after Elder Neddo

At the entry to the silver market

At the base of the angel monument. Lots of 15 year old girls with their friends were there as well. They arrive in a limousine and have have professional photos taken in their formal gowns.

The silver market. I bought a small serving dish made of pewter.  Dennis also bought me a necklace of river pearls. Very nice. He bought some semi precious stones.

our apartment in the new remolded Dorm A

front room    I particularly requested to have a piano and they obliged me

Our little bedroom

Queen size bed.  Many of the other couples have a king size but we are ok with a queen.  Asking for things you need and want will usually yield results.

The table is a little large for the kitchen but I use it as a desk as well

Two sinks, shower and toilet.

The small spare room in our apartment, with a twin bed.  We used it when our grandson came to visit.  That is a fold down ironing board on the wall. The CCM provides irons for all missionaries. The room also has a closet.  I bought the wall hanging at a market and will take it home.

One of the two laundry rooms next door to our apartment in dormitory A.

The clinic on a Saturday morning.  Dennis talking with Mosiah the nurse and elders waiting to be seen.

One of two guest houses near Dormitory A.  The houses have six bedrooms, one kitchen, one laundry room and one common family room.

Krispy Cream, Cage Ball, water jugs, leaving and coming

This elder was just returning home from his 2 year mission. His parents were at the CCM to pick him up.  The mission president who was the president of a mission not very far outside of Mexico City was actually at the CCM to pick up new missionaries and he brought two Elders home to Mexico City where they lived so we saw Elders coming and going that day.  .

We inspect apartments each week.  I think the elders in this apartment had a hard time knowing how to turn the 5 gallon jugs of water over into the dispenser without spilling it all over the floor.  Hence the three buckets, three mops, rags and an empty water jug.  Oh it really is a little difficult.  However Dennis has it down pat now.

The cage soccer/basketball court outside Dorm A is a favorite place for elders to spend their daily PE time.  Elder Houston on the left looking my way landed himself in the hospital with a serious kidney infection for three days and nights.  They called to ask if they could take their IV drip pole (that is on wheels) and walk the halls to proselyte.  Yes of course they are missionaries.

Krispy Cream is a big business with the CCM.  Parents go to the website and order in for their missionaries to have a box delivered.  This Elder had a birthday I guess.  His companion Elder Barney is a twin but not to his companion.  Some of the twins have a hard time just about the time they have to leave the person they have spent their entire life with.

Santa Fe mall and cheesecake factory restaurant and UAM

The Calls had a wedding anniversary and wanted to go to the Santa Fe Mall (a super nice mall) and eat at the Cheese Cake Factory.  I had veggie burger.

We stopped at the University Autonomous of Mexico  UAM.  This is the Library.  It is the largest university in Latin America.  I am so glad that Mexico has opportunities for education for their people.   As is the custom in Mexico many of the building have murals on them.  This is done in tiles.

Their stadium which was the stadium for the World Olympics in 1968 is now the soccer stadium for the university team.  The mural on front was done by Diego Rivera a world famous (Mexican) artist.  The stadium is reminiscent of the stone build pyramids all over Mexico and is also supposed to resemble a volcano with a large open mouth,

They really do like their buildings with murals in Mexico
